Lorna Treffert Shares Success with Engineering Education Certificate

While initially I had no interest in teaching, I grew to love working with students individually and developing fun and interesting ways to present course material to my classes. While my engineering research was challenging and interesting, teaching allowed me to see the positive impact of my efforts in real time. When I saw that Engineering Fundamentals was offering an entire series of courses about STEM education, I jumped at the chance.

The TCE chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) earned awards and recognition at the 2021 SWE National Conference, held October 21–23 in Indianapolis. Twenty-three UT SWE members attended, with their trip sponsored by the college as part of TCE’s commitment to supporting and recruiting women in engineering.



College Celebrates 2021 Engineers Day in Style

“We were very happy to be able to host in-person events once again, and to showcase what is possible through engineering and at the Tickle College of Engineering at UT,” said Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Ozlem Kilic, whose office helps put together the event.
