Our Student
Experience
For 180 years, TCE has graduated students prepared to take on the rigors and challenges of the world. But your degree is more than the classes you will take.
Conduct research alongside our world-renown faculty. Gain educationally-relevant experience through a co-op or internship. Tackle real-world design problems with students across multiple disciplines. Live out the Volunteer spirit through a global initiatives service trip. Craft your own path with the guidance of our advising staff. And cement yourself as part of the Engineering Vols community through one of our student organizations.
So, wherever you see yourself in the future, it starts here.
Advising
The Engineering Advising Office provides academic program planning services to undergrads in the college, with specific attention given to first-year students. Additionally, all of our departments have professional advisors to provide guidance to undergrads after their first-year.
Co-ops & Internships
Co-ops and internships are an essential experience for advancing your academics and accelerating your job search, starting as early as sophomore year. More than 200 employers actively recruit our students for internship and co-op positions each academic year.
Engage LLC
The Engage Living and Learning Community (Engage LLC) brings together first-year and upper class engineering students in a residential environment to help students adjust to life as they enter their first year in college.
Global Experiences
Engineering Vols study abroad all across the world either independently or as part of a faculty-led or full-semester trips. Coursework is tailored to enhance academic progress.
Integrated Engineering Design
Integrated Engineering Design is a multidisciplinary learning opportunity for students to work on real-world industry projects under the direction of faculty and sponsor company mentors.
Office of Student Success
The Office of Student Success helps each student in the college achieve their goals by providing personal, professional, and academic support to students.
Student Orgs
Our student orgs typically provide professional development and networking opportunities, guest speaker sessions, opportunities to attend regional and national conferences, and of course camaraderie with other engineering students.
