Private-sector funding through partnerships and gifts is absolutely vital if we are to continue our progress of helping the nation increase its technological and economic strength, keeping it secure, and improving the lives of its citizens. Together, we can continue to help shape the future of the students, businesses, and people of East Tennessee and beyond.

By partnering with the college, your company will join an ongoing success story that includes the following recent achievements:

  • Increasing enrollment in both undergraduate and PhD programs;
  • Conducting cutting-edge research in areas important to our national security and defense, including aerospace engineering, advanced manufacturing, scintillation materials, ultra-wide-area resilient electric energy transmission (the grid), and nuclear security, among other fields;
  • Providing relevant paid co-op and internship opportunities through more than 1,500 registered companies for undergraduates;
  • Graduating diverse, culturally competent, and skilled next-generation problem solvers who excel in teamwork and leadership and are well positioned to tackle global twenty-first-century engineering challenges;
  • Enriching our faculty with internationally respected researchers and educators through successful joint efforts with both the public and private sectors;
  • Enhancing our national visibility through naming the college, which has provided for professional academic advisors, professorships, graduate fellowships, and discretionary funds to allow rapid response for short-term needs; and
  • Raising support in both the number and size of contributions from our alumni and friends, including significant funding for two completed buildings, with a third—the Zeanah Engineering Complex.
