UT Partners with Enexor to Help Improve Renewable Energy Efficiency

Enexor BioEnergy, a renewable energy and carbon conversion solution for the world’s organic, biomass, and plastic waste problems, today announced that it has been awarded a grant to provide advanced testing services for an innovative high-temperature ceramic filter technology by RevV, a program created by a partnership between the state of Tennessee, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

This project for the Franklin-based company is being overseen by UT’s Fred N. Peebles Professor and JIAM Chair of Excellence Dayakar Penumadu.

“Engaging with our laboratory at UT through the RevV Program, we will provide the ceramic fiber characterization, optical, laser, and electron microscopy, strength testing, and gas flow analysis to accelerate this filter development and enable Enexor to obtain all of this critical testing information from a single source,” said Penumadu. “This, in turn, will significantly improve the probability of success and expedite commercialization of these filters, both in Enexor’s renewable energy system and for other commercial applications.”

Enexor’s patented Bio-CHP system converts almost any organic, plastic, or biomass waste into reliable, renewable power and thermal energy, while concurrently reducing carbon emissions and ultimately mitigating climate change. Modular and easily transportable, the plug-and-play design of this powerful system allows for quick deployment and on-site mobilization in most places around the world. Enexor’s unique business model also enables immediate cost savings and environmental sustainability for its customers.

Penumadu’s work is developing and implementing a new type of ceramic filter to make the zero-carbon energy production possible.

“We are excited to partner with UT and Dr. Penumadu to test and further improve upon our innovative ceramic filter technologies,” states Enexor’s Founder and CEO, Lee Jestings. “Our University of Tennessee partnership is just another example of the strength of the Tennessee business community to help us expedite our go-to-market efforts and to develop new impactful technologies that improve our world.”

The partnership with UT builds on an exciting year for Enexor, which saw it quickly being recognized across the world as a leading renewable energy solution to combat Climate Change. Notable honors in 2021 have included being selected into both Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Climate Change Accelerator and Halliburton Company’s (NYSE: HAL) Clean-Tech Labs Accelerator, and winning the United Nations World Tourism Sustainable Development Goals Startup Competition out of 10,000 applicants from more than 138 countries.
