TCE Takes To the Road
TCE teamed up with 4-H and their Electric Camp Roadshow this summer to bring K-12 students immersive learning experiences related to augmented reality and virtual reality. This year, the camp traveled across the state of Tennessee, from Crossville to Greenville to Jackson and back to Columbia. The college’s contribution was to run an activity center that introduced students to power engineering, communication, and problem solving through a commercially available virtual reality game called “Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.” While some of the 145 middle schoolers who came to the camp had experienced VR, many of them had not. The students enjoyed the experience and gave it a perfect score!
