Travis Griffin Recognized for Excellence in Student Advocacy
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) recognized Travis Griffin, director of the college’s Engineering Diversity Programs, as its Collegiate Chapter Advocate of the Year in the recent 25th Annual NSBE Golden Torch Awards.
Griffin’s Contributions Acknowledged with Beacon of Light Award
“I am humbled and thankful for this recognition,” said Griffin. “I extend special thanks to Multicultural Student Life for building collaborations with TCE, it past support of faculty/staff, and service to our students.”
NSBE Team Finishes Third in National Competition
“Our team kept its composure and made an amazing comeback at the end,” said Shannon Sharp, also a sophomore in mechanical engineering. “When they announced that we had won, we went crazy and celebrated ecstatically for UT’s win.”
