Mandrus, Ragauskas Honored as Highly Cited Researchers

David Mandrus, professor and Jerry and Kay Henry Endowed professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and Art Ragauskas, acting head and UT-ORNL Governor’s Chair for Biorefining in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, were named to the 2024 Clarivate list of Highly Cited Researchers.

The annual list recognizes those who demonstrated significant influence in their field through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. These researchers authored publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.

Mandrus and Ragauskas, who have secondary Oak Ridge National Laboratory affiliations, were honored at ORNL with four ORNL scientists also named to the 2024 list (David Cullen, Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences; Colleen Iversen, Environmental Sciences; Michael McGuire, Materials Science and Technology; and Jiaqiang Yan, Materials Science and Technology).

Representatives from the Laboratory Director’s Office, the Office of Research Education, and Clarivate delivered remarks and presented the ORNL-affiliated honorees with certificates marking their achievements.
