Study Abroad Student Report: Andrew Eblen

EIL 2023 was one of the most influential programs I have ever participated in. Getting to go to a foreign country with other like-minded engineers and learn hands-on is an experience everyone should consider. There are a lot of opportunities to be had inside the trip agenda and outside as well. The course work was always backed up by visiting museums and historical sights letting you know where this field of study originated from. Bletchley Park is a great example of this. Getting to see the “Colossus” in person was important for me since it is a foundation for Computer Engineering.

What is also essential to the trip is being able to see parts of the world with the time you have living abroad. There is something really rewarding about creating new friendships and seeing the European countryside. On our three-day weekend that was handed to us, I went with a friend to Dublin, Ireland. I got to invest myself in a deep culture by exploring the city and venturing out to the Cliffs of Moher. This is just one out of a bunch of opportunities I had on the trip. For anyone considering EIL, I believe it is one of the best decisions you can make!
