Staff Spotlight: Marisa Hipsher Joins Nuclear Engineering
Marisa Hipsher, administrative specialist in the nuclear engineering department, assists with timetable scheduling, grad program administration, graduate course overrides, grad recruitment, and manages yearly qualifying exams. Hipsher is also the parking liaison for the department, authorizes scholarships, and assists the department head.
“I enjoy working with the people within my department and the college,” she said. “Whether that be staff, faculty, or students, everyone has been very great to work with since I started last fall.”
Hipsher graduated from the Haslam College of Business in May 2020. Her major was marketing, and her collateral was human resource management. She plans on pursuing her master’s degree in these same areas at UT starting this fall.
“I think being a recent graduate of UT has helped me when it comes to working with students,” said Hipsher. “I have very recently been in their shoes and know things from both the staff member and the student prospective.”
Hipsher and her family all enjoy sports, especially Tennessee men’s and women’s basketball, and enjoy being outdoors, whether that is on her family’s 180-acre farm in Grainger County, Tennessee, or exploring new cities with friends.
