Engineering Vols Earn ASEE Best Paper Award

Four Engineering Vols recently won Best Paper for the Student Division at the American Society for Engineering Education Conference for their paper “Minimizing Communication Challenges Faced by Virtual Teams.”

Nathaniel Blalock, senior in CBE; Alexis Walsh, recent ISE graduate; Daniel Mountain (now a master’s student in CBE; and Sarah Norris, junior in aerospace engineering.

Their study was motivated by their experiences during the spring 2020 semester with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. They designed and conducted the study under the mentorship for Courtney Faber, who leads the ENLITE (Exploring Knowledge Learning and Identity to Transform Engineering Education) research group.
