Study Abroad Student Report: Caleb Bowman
Materials in Milan
My study abroad in Milan was one of the most unique and fun experiences of my young life. At first, I was on the fence about studying abroad so far away from home with people that I have never met, but I am glad that I did. I learned so many important life skills, and experienced a new side of the world that I had never before. The class itself is something that I also found enjoyable. My professor, Associate Professor Kevin Kit was an amazing teacher, and gave great advice when it came to navigating the city. Overall, I am definitely glad that I decided to go.
During the trip I got to do many different things. Some were with the class, and some were with some of the friends I made from class. One of the first big events that we did was watching the Giro D’italia bike race in Bergamo, Italy. We were able to explore the old city, which overlooked the rest of the city. We also toured an extravagant church at the top, and ate a very nice dinner. During our free weekend, me and some friends went off and stayed at an airbnb next to lake Como. This was by far the coolest place I have ever been. The extravagant mountains surrounding the lake were simply breathtaking. We were able to rent a boat and get out on the water. It was very cold, but we were still able to swim for a little bit.
As far as the class goes, I really enjoyed it. Associate Professor Kit was a great teacher for this class, and did very well teaching it given the small amount of time we had to complete it. I ended up making an A-, which is not as good as I wish I did, for as fast as we went, I think I did alright. I am very glad that I decided to go on this study abroad trip, because I made many friends and many memories.
