Pro-tip for Prospective Students:
“UT is so ridiculously full of opportunities—all you have to do is reach out and say yes and grab them. Just go for things, because a lot of times it’s going to work out and it’s going to lead you down this pathway that you’d never thought you’d get to, but here you are.”

Favorite thing about the college?

“I feel like my degree has been earned. It has been the hardest I’ve ever worked in my life but it feels so worth it and I attribute that to the amazing professors in the college. They are always there to help or give you a break or expect more of you. There’s always just a good dynamic. I absolutely love EF! The EF program is just outstanding! The way they go in depth and really apply physics just for engineering. I got to learn so much about how the world around me works.”

Favorite moment with the college?

“I went with SWE to a career fair in California my sophomore year and that’s where I found out about the Missile Defense Agency and their SMART Program. After talking to a man at the career fair for about 40 minutes, he said, ‘I want you to come work for me.’ So that was a really exciting moment as a 19-year-old and I couldn’t have done it without SWE and going to UT. This has been such a life changing opportunity.”

How did you find community at UT?

“I really like how any class you go into we make a group chat so that’s always been a big sense of community because if there’s a test or quiz or big project, we’re all going through it together. It’s been so helpful because you can always reach out and have that group to lean on.”
