James T. Pippin Diversity Engineering Scholarship

The James T. Pippin Diversity Engineering Scholarship awards African-American students in the college who demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, and financial need.

Selection

The selection of the recipient for this scholarship will be made by the Dwight Hutchins Engineering Diversity Programs and the college’s associate dean for academic and student affairs.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate African American engineering student making satisfactory progress toward an engineering degree.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be in good standing academically with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
  • Must be a member of the UT chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the student organization for their major e.g. IEEE, ASCE, etc.
  • Must have shown appropriate participation in student activities with the college and the university.
