Kennedy Agyekum receives his Margaret C. Etter Student Lecturer Award at the American Crystallographic Association (ACA) Annual Meeting.

Agyekum Collects Two Awards

Kennedy Agyekum, a PhD student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, received two awards this summer for his work in neutron scattering.

Agyekum received one of the four Best Poster Awards at the American Conference on Neutron Scattering in Knoxville in June for his poster, Exploring the Effects of Co/Fe Composition on the Structure, Defect Chemistry, and Ionic Conduction in Ba[CoxFe0.8-xZr0.1Y0.1]O3-δ (BCFZY).

In July, Agyekum received the Margaret C. Etter Student Lecturer Award at the American Crystallographic Association (ACA) Annual Meeting in Denver. The award was bestowed by the ACA’s Neutron Scattering Special Interest Group (SIG). As part of the award, Agyekum gave an invited presentation titled: Compositional Effects on the Triple Conduction Behavior of BaCoxFe0.8-xZr0.1Y0.1O3-δ.

Winners of the Margaret C. Etter Student Lecturer Awards are determined by elected officers of the SIGs. Students who accept the invitation receive a monetary award of $250.

Agyekum is a second-year student in Assistant Professor Katharine Page’s group.
