Bethany Claes
Bethany Claes is a Junior in MSE and an out-of-state VOL from Morrisville, North Carolina. She is involved in undergraduate research with the MSE department, is a Society of Women Engineers mentor, an Engineers without Borders member, and a member of Materials Advantage. While majoring in MSE, Bethany has had the opportunity to participate in a Research Experience for Undergraduates at Duke University. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, reading, and knitting.
Marlena Alexander
Marlena Alexander is an undergraduate in MSE from Kingston, Tennessee. She is currently involved in the 1794s Scholars program, undergraduate research at the Scintillation Materials Research Center within the MSE department, and the Materials Advantage club where she serves as secretary. Her favorite hobby is hiking and exploring the trails around Knoxville!
Maddie Maben
Maddie Maben is a sophomore in MSE from Knoxville, Tennessee. She is currently involved in undergraduate research with the MSE department, the 1794 Scholars program, the Society for Women Engineers (SWE), and the Cook Grand Challenge Honors Program for engineering students. Her favorite hobby is practicing music as part of an Applied Music minor.
Kim Pestovich
Kim Pestovich is a PhD student in the Scintillation Materials Research Center. Kim is from New Mexico and moved to Knoxville for graduate school. She is involved with Materials Research Society and Society of Women Engineers at UTK. Kim likes to go on hikes with her dog and play trivia.
