
Seven students from the Tickle College of Engineering have been selected for the 2026 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program
Researchers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory recently conducted a study that found that not only did switching to switchgrass prove profitable for Midwest farmers, it also helped stem land loss and saw an 8 percent increase in the biodiversity of bird species in the area.
“To ensure accuracy in tooling parts, you need a material that does not change shape during the process, which is why silica sand has been promising,” said Dustin Gilmer, a University of Tennessee Bredesen Center student and the study’s lead author.
