I decided to skip the beach or the chance of sleeping away my whole spring break of 2017 in my home town and start one of my life goals to travel the world.

By studying abroad, students gain a global context. It frames your thinking and calls on you to think big about your actions. As we study to become engineers, it is important to grasp how our actions will influence the world around us.

We woke up early the next morning to travel to our main destination of the trip, Quetzaltenango. On the way, we stopped at some ancient Mayan ruins and explored the area.

This was by far the best trip I have ever been on, and I am so very thankful for the opportunity to explore another country and the culture of the people who live there.
