“I have worked at UT for 12 years,” said Hale. “A little over seven in the main payroll office on campus, three years in mechanical, aerospace, and biomedical engineering as administrative specialist, and going on 2 years in nuclear engineering.”
“Believe it or not, there are a lot of similarities between working with preschoolers and elementary age students and working with college students,” she said.
This year’s theme was “At the Movies,” with administration judges dressed as a film crew and departments picking movie-related team costumes. New this year was an Office Decorating Contest, with separate prizes for the site-based décor efforts.
“I want to help them explore their strengths, interests, and values so they can effectively identify curricular and co-curricular opportunities that are relevant to their immediate and long-term professional goals,” he said.
“I am also a 2017 UT graduate myself, so I know my way around campus pretty well and am familiar with a lot of various aspects of UT from both a student and staff member’s perspective,” she said. “Oh, and I am proficient in Spanish and love every opportunity to practice my translating skills.”
Ryan Blanchette is the college’s new data analyst, tasked primarily with gathering, cleaning, and summarizing data for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and US News College Rankings surveys.
Lisa Byrd is the assistant director for Engineering Advising. As an active academic advisor, she meets with students to help them plan their academic careers in the college.
Lisa Smith is Administrative Specialist I with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Carrie Zitzman is the administrative assistant for Dean Janis Terpenny, and also supports Associate Dean Bill Dunne and the college research coordinators.
