Jacob Working brings experience of his engineering degree to his role as MSE advisor.
The college in conjunction with the Haslam College of Business has named Ben Skipper as the new director of Heath IBEP.
“Melissa has a great understanding of where we are as a college, the positive trajectory we are on, and her leadership will be a critical factor in helping us achieve our goals,” said Dean Matthew Mench, the Wayne T. Davis Dean’s Chair of the college. “We’re excited to see what the future holds.”
Mark Volk joined UT’s Reliability and Maintainability Center (RMC) as the reliability project manager in 2020. He oversees the RMC Training Factory, the Futures Lab, RMIC certification projects, student projects, training development and delivery, and interfaces with RMC partners.
Wanda Turpin is the administrative specialist for our Engineering Professional Practice office. Her role keeps her on the forefront of the program, providing information, coordinating appointments with advisors, and planning events like the Engineering Expo or the annual cookout.
“I am delighted to be working with these two energetic and visionary women in launching new initiatives for TCE to promote engineering and build partnerships to attract a great workforce to engineering from all walks of life,” said Ozlem Kilic, associate dean of academic and student affairs.
Adam Cain joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2017 as the senior IT technologist. In this role, he offers support for faculty and staff computers, software licensed to the department, new computer purchases, and most anything IT related that is not covered by campus-wide OIT.
“One of my favorite things to do is partner people with vendors and other campus units,” said Buffington. “I enjoy developing relationships with a variety of vendors and then sharing them with my TCE colleagues. Need a balloon artist? Custom linens? The perfect orange popcorn? Just let me know!”
“I am humbled and thankful for this recognition,” said Griffin. “I extend special thanks to Multicultural Student Life for building collaborations with TCE, it past support of faculty/staff, and service to our students.”
Shelby Carter joined the college this year as the new administrative specialist in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs. In this role, she often deals with scholarships awarded through the college, and she serves the Dean of Academic and Student Affairs with student matters. Carter also helps coordinate the annual Engineers Day on campus.
