Materials Camp is a week-long opportunity for high school students to learn about materials science using a range of equipment and skills. Students utilize hands-on learning principles of applied math and science experience to explore materials science and engineering principles in this unique experience.
Why Attend?
Materials are the building blocks of civilizations. Advancement in technology is dependent on the materials that are available. Materials science is an interdisciplinary approach to science that brings together tools in science, technology, and mathematics to solve societal needs. The study of materials provides opportunities for students to learn science and math in the context of real-world applications, and it is the goal of Materials Camp to provide interesting, fun, relevant, and educational opportunities to its participants.
