Megan Gillespie, a senior in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, received the first-place award in the Engineering Ceramics Division (ECD) of the American Ceramic Society Best Poster Awards.
Gillespie, an undergraduate research assistant, presented her poster, titled “Creation of the RbI – Sr12 phase diagram to facilitate scintillator scale-up,” at the 49th International Conference on Advanced Ceramics and Composites earlier this year.
“This award is important to me because it recognizes the dedication and months of hard work I put into my research, and the payoff of everything my mentors put into me,” Gillespie said.
Gillespie will receive her award during the plenary session of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the 50th International Conference and Expo on Advanced Ceramics and Composites on January 25, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
