Future Students
As the first program of its kind in Tennessee, our applied engineering program bridges the gap between theoretical ideas and the practical application of those ideas in today’s leading industries. Students in our applied engineering programs will learn through hands-on experience from day one. Whether you join our software engineering concentration or our manufacturing concentration, our classes are set up for you to learn by doing, gaining practical experience prior to learning the theoretical concepts that make the systems and tools you’re using work.

what is
Applied engineering?
Applied engineering focuses on the practical application of engineering principles, applying them to real-world problems in a variety of different industries. Students who graduate with a degree in applied engineering are ready to contribute as soon as they graduate. They are armed with the skills to work on current technology and the knowledge to adapt to the cutting-edge as new systems emerge. Our curriculum emphasizes the hands-on application of the systems that keep industries like manufacturing, construction, energy, software development, and more going.
