Students and professors from the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering were recognized with an Outstanding Paper Award by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Ground Testing Technical Committee.
The collaborative paper entitled, “High-Fidelity Temperature and Heat Flux Evaluation in Mach 6 Arcjet Tunnel with Infrared Thermography” was the single paper honored from a field of five nominated papers that were presented in the Ground Testing sessions at the 2025 AIAA SciTech Forum held in January in Orlando, Florida.
Drew Dove, a PhD student under Professor Kenneth Kihm, is the lead author of the paper. The co-authors are Christian Isaacs and Killian Samuels, PhD students of Assistant Professor Damiano Baccarella, Alex Dixon, a former master’s student of Kihm, Baccarella, and Kihm.
