Through our graduate programs, we advance the educational impact and opportunity of scholars and professionals so they can grow in their knowledge and expertise. Our department offers several MS programs, an online PhD program, a dual MS and MBA option for those interested in integrating engineering and business principles, and a newly launched Doctor of Engineering program. Grad certifications are available for students to build on their academic experience and expand their portfolios and knowledge.

FAQs

No, we consider funding when evaluating the application. There is no additional application nor do you need to contact faculty before applying. Note that funding is rarely available for masters students.

No, applications are evaluated by a committee of faculty and all applications are given a thorough review

Applicants who pay the fee receive priority review. However, we will perform a preliminary review of all applications that are complete aside from the fee payment, and we will schedule a Zoom interview if your application is competitive. We will make a decision about the fee waiver after the interview. You do not need to email us to request the waiver.

Unofficial transcripts of all college courses are sufficient for the application, but official transcripts sent directly from the previous institutions to the UT Graduate School must be provided after admission.

International students, whose native language is not English, must submit official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

We can make exceptions to application deadlines in rare circumstances. Please apply for the nearest open application date and send an email to the graduate director requesting a change in entry term.

We accept applications for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. However, class offerings are limited in the summer, so we strongly recommend Ph.D. students applying for either Fall or Spring unless you have discussed your situation with the department.

No it is not, it will not be considered

The department does not typically offer financial assistance for MS students; however, there are a few opportunities outside the ISE department. Please refer to the Graduate Fellowships page for more information.
