
Annabeth Parker is a second semester junior in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) from Kingsport, TN. She loves how ISE combines engineering, business, and logistics to make systems, throughout all aspects of life, more efficient. Annabeth is the secretary for IISE, which consists of social outreach; she also works closely with the department on first-year engagement due to ISE being one of the smaller departments on UTK’s campus. In spring 2023, Annabeth worked at a co-op with general contractors Brasfield & Gorrie as a project manager on a commercial project in Raleigh, NC. During the summer of 2024, Annabeth worked in the hospitality industry applying IE techniques to a small luxury resort in Moab, UT. During the school year, Annabeth works as an ISE ambassador and a student worker in the Tickle College of Engineering Dean’s Office. In her free time, Annabeth enjoys all outdoor related things and trying new restaurants throughout the beautiful city of Knoxville.

Brooklyn Finarty is a senior. She is passionate about ISE because it allows her to continuously learn and find ways to improve processes and systems. Brooklyn has gained hands-on experience through an internship with Polaris Inc. as a manufacturing engineer and a co-op with Altec Industries as a quality engineer. On campus, she serves as Vice President of Mentorship for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), works as an ambassador for Engineering Professional Practice, and is active in the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). Outside of school and work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending concerts, baking, and doing yoga.

Faith Keating is a junior from Charlotte, NC. Faith loves that ISE is such a welcoming and encouraging community that thrives on systems thinking and collaboration. Her first internship was during the summer of 2025 as an Industrial Engineer at the Kao Innovation and Collaboration Studio. She worked on developing online training material based on written instructions to optimize equipment efficiency and mitigate safety risks. This upcoming summer, she will be joining Owen’s Corning as a Manufacturing intern in Texas. During the school year, she works at the Kao Innovation and Collaboration Studio as a student supervisor in addition to her role as an ISE Ambassador. She serves as co-chair on the Heath IBEP Service Committee. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, 3D printing and exploring the Knoxville area!

Katherine Koester is a senior. Katherine enjoys the versatility of ISE, appreciating how the principles of system improvement can be applied across many areas of life. She has gained hands-on industry experience through multiple internships: most recently as a Quality Intern at Colgate-Palmolive (2025). She has also worked as both a Process Design and Development Intern and a Manufacturing Engineer at The Timken Company. On campus, Katherine serves as an ISE Ambassador, Vice President of the Industrial Engineering honor society, Alpha Pi Mu , and Co-Chair of the Heath IBEP Engagement Committee. Outside of academics, she enjoys riding horses, spending time with friends, and exploring the Smoky Mountains.

Frank Moser is a junior from Brentwood, TN. Frank chose ISE for the field’s flexibility, transferable skills from industry to industry, and emphasis on project management, leadership, and professional development. On campus, Frank represents the Tickle College of Engineering in the Undergraduate Student Senate, serves as a Teaching Assistant for the Engineering Fundamentals program, and is actively involved in Engineers Without Borders and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society. He has gained industry experience by interning with Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. Outside of school and extracurriculars, Frank enjoys travelling, reading, and listening to live music.

Abby Crumley is a sophomore from Jacksboro, TN. Abby loves the fact that ISE is such a supportive and close-knit community that encourages everyone to succeed. Abby is involved in her sorority, Phi Mu, Women in Industrial and Systems Engineering (WISE), and The Walk. During her internship with Pyro Shows, Inc., she organized lodging operations and communicated with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) about pyrotechnic demonstrations. Abby served as a Resident Assistant for the Governors School of Sciences and Engineering (GSSE) cohort of 2025. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the lake, baking, crafting, and being with her friends!

Garrett Gregory is a sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee. He is drawn to ISE because of how diverse a field it is and his passion for problem-solving and improving the efficiency of real-world systems. On campus, Garrett is actively involved in the UT Success Academy and serves as an Industrial Engineering Ambassador. He is currently exploring opportunities for co-ops, internships, and research to gain hands-on experience in the field. Outside the classroom, Garrett enjoys basketball, football, food, exploring nature, and spending time with friends.

Isabela Fernandez is a sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee. She likes how IE optimizes the way different systems work, making it a valuable skill set across any industry. She also loves having familiar faces in her classes while having the opportunity to meet and work with new people on projects. On campus, Isabela serves as a chair in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and as a Conference Committee member in the Student Space Technology Association (SSTA), where she has gained experience in the organization and logistics behind event planning. She is also involved in the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking, listening to music, cooking, and practicing yoga!

Lilliana York is a sophomore from Knoxville, Tennessee. She loves the versatility of Industrial Engineering and how it seamlessly connects diverse fields. On campus, she works as a Vol Wall Attendant, an Undergraduate Research Assistant, and an ISE Ambassador. In her Undergraduate Research she works alongside PhD and Master students, assisting on projects that deepen her knowledge in data analytics, machine learning, and reliability and maintainability engineering. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, swimming, running, reading, and playing with her cat.

Eamonn Lawhern is a sophomore from Maryville, TN. Eamonn is passionate about process optimization, systems thinking, and the impact engineers can make by improving efficiency and safety in real-world operations. He loves ISE because of its collaborative environment, supportive faculty, and the wide range of industries the degree opens doors to — especially automotive engineering, where he hopes to build a career in operations or process improvement. He currently serves as an ISE Ambassador for the Tickle College of Engineering, is a member of the UT Success Academy, and is active in the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). Outside of academics, he works as a youth ministry intern, gaining leadership, communication, and team-oriented experience that he brings into his engineering work. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, cooking, learning photography, and camping around East Tennessee. He loves finding new ways to challenge himself outdoors and connect with the Knoxville community.
Justine Pagan is a junior from Johnson City, Tennessee. She is currently minoring in data science and engineering management. Justine chose to study ISE because of how versatile it is and how it combines technical skill with business understanding. On campus, Justine is the vice president for Women in Industrial and Systems Engineering (WiSE), where she helps coordinate events, oversees meetings, and fosters a supportive community. Additionally, Justine is the secretary for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), where she oversees event attendance, member participation, and scheduling. In her free time, Justine enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and attending jazz concerts.
