Biography
Hongyu Zheng is an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering and (by courtesy) Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He received his Ph.D. degree in Transportation System Analysis and Planning from Northwestern University. Dr. Zheng’s research centers on the crosscutting field of Industrial Engineering and Mobility. Key areas of his research include but are not limited to: data-driven modeling for dynamic systems, autonomous transportation, mobility system analysis and management, and smart logistics systems. Methodology-wise, he specializes in developing novel tools based on applied economics, game theory, machine learning (ML), optimization, and network modeling. Dr. Zheng is an active member of INFORMS, IISE, and TRB.
