Biography
Andrew Yu is a professor in the department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research is mainly in the area of production planning and scheduling, facility and equipment maintenance, supply chain management and logistics support. Collaboration with industry is an integral part of his work. His latest collaborative work includes the supply risk mitigation for electronics components and risk management in facility maintenance planning.
Prior to joining UT, Yu worked as an assistant professor at Southern Methodist University and Louisiana State University. He also worked as a senior consultant and solution architect for a supply chain solution company, i2 Technologies, now a part of JDA. He provided educational and implementation consultation to many companies such as IBM, Northrop Grumman, Honeywell, Cardinal Health, Airbus, etc. for their supply chain and logistics solutions.
Yu has served as a president for the division of Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS) in the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE). He is currently serving as an area editor for the journal Computers & Industrial Engineering. He is an active member of IISE and Informs.
