Biography

Andrew J. Yu is a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Director of Doctor of Engineering (DEng) program, and Director of Engineering Management (EM) program at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. His research areas include Supply Chain and Logistics Optimization, Facility Maintenance Management, Maintenance Planning and Scheduling, Supply Chain and Enterprise Solution Security and Risk Mitigation, and Machine Learning and AI applications in Infrastructure Maintenance.

Yu’s research has been sponsored by Sandia National Lab, TDOT, as well as a variety of industry partners. He is a member of IISE and INFORMS, and the former President of the Data Analytics and Information Systems Division of IISE (2019-2020). Yu is currently an Area Editor for the journal Computers & Industrial Engineering.
