Benefits
The Cook Grand Challenge Honors Program offers several benefits, such as priority advising and course registration, automatic qualification for the first-year Honors sequence, the ability to enroll in smaller honors courses, and more. Highly motivated and engaged students may also want to pursue the more ambitious NAE Grand Challenge Scholars Program.
Many honors students bond quickly over homework due to small class sizes. The curriculum will challenge you in the best possible way, but there’s always time to relax and kick back with the friends you’ll make. The program hosts game nights, socials, and other events.
The program is project-focused, which means you’ll work collaboratively with the three faculty members and seven teaching assistants dedicated to honors. They are often able to provide more personalized reference letters for students seeking internships or research positions because of how well they get to know the honors students.
