VOLTrek Spring Break Lands Internships for Engineering Vols
UT’s Center for Career Development took 16 Engineering Vols to visit companies in Huntsville, Alabama, on a VOLTreks spring break trip. The visit earned at least two internships for participating students.
VOLTreks provide an opportunity to learn about career possibilities by traveling to organizations and exploring various industries and careers. Students get the chance to engage with professionals, tour the facility, and gain insight into the industry.
Site visits typically last for just a few hours, but the March 2019 trip to Huntsville was the first two-day VolTrek. The group visited Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Boeing on day one, and Jacobs, SES, and Brockwell Technologies on day two.
They also met with the Northern Alabama Alumni Chapter for dinner socializing and networking.
Aerospace engineering juniors Zackery Wood and Samantha Ramsey both landed internships with Jacobs as a direct result from the trip.
Other engineering students on the trip included: Corbin Cawood, Abhi Mistry, Teague Aarant, Vinit Chaudhary, Gregory Farley, Matthew Klomfas, Scotty Rybak, San Soun, Angus Shaw, Justin Stephens, Jake Treadway, Gary Burns, Corinne Gerhold, and Carter White.
