Summer Programs Introduce High Schoolers to Engineering

Engaging summer pre-college programs again delivered successful engineering experiences to high school students from across the region in July.

High School Introduction to Engineering Systems for Twelfth Graders, or HITES12, offered high school seniors the opportunity to get a hands-on introduction to engineering study. Students also learned about curriculum and rules, UT history, the engineering diversity programs, and the college overall.

Engineering VOLunteers for Tenth Graders, or eVOL10, offered high school sophomores a similar opportunity to experience engineering design and application. Students began the July 14–19 week with ice breaker games and a practice version of the ACT math section.
