ORNL: Method to grow large single-crystal graphene could advance scalable 2D materials

Philip Rack, Professor and Leonard G. Penland Chair of materials science and engineering, worked as part of a group of researchers on a new method to produce large, monolayer single-crystal-like graphene films more than a foot long. The method is based on a “survival of the fittest: competition among the crystals.

The group’s research was published in Nature Materials.
