Six faculty members, one staff member, and one student from the Tickle College of Engineering received awards at the University of Tennessee Academic Honors Banquet, which was held on April 21 in the UT Student Union.
The event, hosted by the Office of the Provost, celebrates academic and professional honors with awards that highlight individuals embodying the Volunteer spirit through extraordinary research and creative activity, impactful contributions to campus life, and leadership and service to the university and beyond.
The TCE representatives receiving awards were:
- Excellence in Academic Outreach:
- Claudia J. Rawn, professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering
- Excellence in Advising:
- Joanna Rathbone, master advisor in the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Excellence in Research and Creative Achievement:
- Kevin Bai, EECS professor
- Excellence in Teaching:
- Betsy Chesnutt, teaching associate professor in the Engineering Fundamentals Program
- Professional Promise in Research and Creative Achievement:
- Rebekah Herman, assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering
- Catherine Schuman, EECS assistant professor
- Success in Multidisciplinary Research:
- Haochen Li, assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Undergraduate Researcher of the Year:
- Jocelyn Hess, senior MSE major
