This award honors the best student contribution to <strong>Scripta Materialia<\/strong> in 2013. The competition is very tough for this award, and only the best papers are chosen. Tong also contributed to <strong>Acta Materialia<\/strong> in 2013. Both <strong>Scripta<\/strong> and <strong>Acta<\/strong> are high impact journals.
