Her dissertation research focused on bulk crystal growth of rare earth orthoaluminates and scintillation characterization.<\/p>\n<p>Zhuravleva joined the Scintillation Materials Research Center (SMRC) at the College of Engineering, University of Tennessee, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2009, became a Research Assistant Professor in the Materials Science and Engineering Department in 2011, and joined the tenure-track faculty in 2015. She continues to actively collaborate with the SMRC on various projects related to discovery and development of novel scintillators.
