UT-ORNL Distinguished Scientist/Professor Takeshi Egami and Assistant Professor Weinan Xu recently had their research featured on covers of renowned materials science journals.

Egami’s article, Relaxor Ferroelectric-Like Spatiotemporal Memory in Field-Driven Lipid Bilayers, was on the January 2026 cover of Langmuir, a scientific journal published by the American Chemical Society. Egami also had an article published in the January 2026 edition of Condensed Matter titled, Electron Correlation and High-Temperature Superconductivity.

Xu’s article Phase-Change Polymer—Metal Composites with Tunable Thermal Conductivity and Their Additive Manufacturing, was featured on the February 2026 cover of the ACS journal Applied Engineering Materials. In July 2025, Xu also had an article, Sustainable thermoplastic elastomer-based nanocomposites and their 3D printing for flexible and stretchable sensors, featured on the cover of the Journal of Materials Chemistry.
