{"id":900,"date":"2025-04-16T12:52:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T16:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/?p=900"},"modified":"2025-07-23T12:54:15","modified_gmt":"2025-07-23T16:54:15","slug":"students-professors-receive-outstanding-paper-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/news\/students-professors-receive-outstanding-paper-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Students, Professors Receive Outstanding Paper Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students and professors from the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical Engineering were recognized with an Outstanding Paper Award by the <a href=\"https:\/\/aiaa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics<\/a> (AIAA) Ground Testing Technical Committee.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaborative paper entitled, \u201cHigh-Fidelity Temperature and Heat Flux Evaluation in Mach 6 Arcjet Tunnel with Infrared Thermography\u201d was the single paper honored from a field of five nominated papers that were presented in the Ground Testing sessions at the 2025 AIAA SciTech Forum held in January in Orlando, Florida.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drew Dove, a PhD student under Professor Kenneth Kihm, is the lead author of the paper. The co-authors are Christian Isaacs and Killian Samuels, PhD students of Assistant Professor Damiano Baccarella, Alex Dixon, a former master\u2019s student of Kihm, Baccarella, and Kihm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"width:100%\"><div style=\"width: 15%;height: 10px;margin: 40px 0 px;border-bottom: 6px solid #ff8200\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2
