{"id":1807,"date":"2026-02-06T11:48:02","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T16:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/?p=1807"},"modified":"2026-06-11T11:52:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T15:52:09","slug":"singh-named-associate-editor-of-asme-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/news\/singh-named-associate-editor-of-asme-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"Singh Named Associate Editor of ASME Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assistant Professor&nbsp;Prashant Singh&nbsp;has been named&nbsp;an&nbsp;associate&nbsp;editor for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)&nbsp;<em>Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0bimonthly\u00a0journal\u00a0focuses on the dissemination of information of permanent interest in applied thermal sciences and engineering,\u00a0emphasizing new and emerging technologies, significant questions, pressing problems and concerns, and new methods and approaches that can be applied to industrial problems.\u00a0The\u00a0publication complements the\u00a0<em>Journal of Heat Transfer<\/em>, which focuses on fundamental research.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his role,&nbsp;Singh&nbsp;will be&nbsp;conducting reviews of the technical papers&nbsp;submitted&nbsp;to the journal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a very prestigious position,\u201d said Singh, who is serving a three-year term&nbsp;as associate editor. \u201cI&nbsp;have to&nbsp;thank&nbsp;Editor-In-Chief&nbsp;Srinath V.&nbsp;Ekkad&nbsp;(North Carolina State University)&nbsp;for giving me this opportunity.&nbsp;It is a privilege to extend my service to ASME, an organization that has given me so much over the years, and to the heat transfer community I deeply value.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Singh&nbsp;has been involved with ASME since he was a student in&nbsp;college&nbsp;and&nbsp;has published papers in several ASME journals over the last decade.&nbsp;He has also served on&nbsp;HTD K-committees within the organization, where he is currently the chair of K-10 committee on Heat Transfer Equipment.&nbsp;Last year,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/news\/singh-receives-young-investigator-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Singh&nbsp;received&nbsp;the ASME Bergles-Rohsenow Young Investigator&nbsp;Award in Heat Transfer.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"width:100%\"><div style=\"width: 15%;height: 10px;margin: 40px 0 px;border-bottom: 6px solid #ff8200\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rhiannon Potkey (<a href=\"mailto:rpotkey@utk.edu\">rpotkey@utk.edu<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assistant Professor&nbsp;Prashant Singh&nbsp;has been named&nbsp;an&nbsp;associate&nbsp;editor for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)&nbsp;Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications.&nbsp;
