{"id":1273,"date":"2021-04-29T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-29T16:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/?p=1273"},"modified":"2025-07-29T12:28:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T16:28:33","slug":"simmons-joins-mabes-hall-of-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/news\/simmons-joins-mabes-hall-of-fame\/","title":{"rendered":"Simmons Joins MABE\u2019s Hall of Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--small)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/mae\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/07\/SimmonsDanny_cropped.jpg\" alt=\"Danny Simmons\" class=\"wp-image-1274\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Danny Simmons (BS\/ME, \u201973) was inducted as MABE\u2019s newest Hall of Fame member during its board of advisors meeting on April 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simmons was chosen for this honor last year, and was scheduled to be inducted during the department\u2019s honors banquet in April of 2020, but due to COVID shutdowns and restrictions, his induction had to be postponed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating from UT, Simmons worked for Exxon in New Orleans as a drilling and reservoir engineer for over 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1976, Simmons began his career at Netherland, Sewell &amp; Associates, Inc. (NSAI) as a petroleum consultant, a position he held for 26 years. He served as executive vice president of NSAI for 6 years before being named president and chief operating officer in 2008. In 1992, he opened NSAI\u2019s Houston office where he leads a team of over 130 engineers, geologists, geophysicists, petro physicists, and analysts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simmons is an expert in conventional and unconventional reserves and has helped NSAI become a world leader of petroleum property analysis to industry and financial organizations and government agencies.
