These faculty impact a wide range of industries, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small)\">Electric and hybrid vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small)\">Grid-scale energy production and storage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small)\">Space systems <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our researchers apply knowledge from several areas, including thermal\/fluid dynamics, electrochemistry, advanced manufacturing, and advanced diagnostics to energy conversion and storage systems. Through their research, they work to improve the cost, reliability, safety, efficiency, and breadth of applications of these systems. These researchers work from nanoscale all the way to commercial systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of our researchers work on multidisciplinary projects with other members of our campus community.
