Research activities include both experimental and computational\/theoretical investigations. Our faculty are working on research in some of the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small)\">Investigating the aerodynamics of aircraft, including rotorcraft and hypersonic systems that experience extreme velocity and temperature.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small)\">Advancing knowledge in novel methods to investigate combustion processes or test materials and structures in advanced wind tunnels. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--xx-small)\">Researching fluid dynamics and heat transfer at the nano- to micro-scale, processes that affect manufacturing, material properties, space systems, HVAC, and more. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our faculty collaborate amongst on multidisciplinary teams around the college and in a variety of fundamental and applied research communities.
