Singh Named Associate Editor of ASME Journal

Assistant Professor Prashant Singh has been named an associate editor for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications

The bimonthly journal focuses on the dissemination of information of permanent interest in applied thermal sciences and engineering, emphasizing new and emerging technologies, significant questions, pressing problems and concerns, and new methods and approaches that can be applied to industrial problems. The publicationcomplements the Journal of Heat Transfer, which focuses on fundamental research.

In his role, Singh will be conducting reviews of the technical papers submitted to the journal.

“It’s a very prestigious position,” said Singh, who is serving a three-year term as associate editor. “I have to thank Editor-In-Chief Srinath V. Ekkad (North Carolina State University) for giving me this opportunity. It is a privilege to extend my service to ASME, an organization that has given me so much over the years, and to the heat transfer community I deeply value.”

Singh has been involved with ASME since he was a student in college and has published papers in several ASME journals over the last decade. He has also served on HTD K-committees within the organization, where he is currently the chair of K-10 committee on Heat Transfer Equipment. Last year, Singh received the ASME Bergles-Rohsenow Young Investigator Award in Heat Transfer.
