Professors and students from UT Department for Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering designed workshops for students from four local high schools in order to assist them in the preparation for FIRST competition.

It’s been awhile since I last posted here, mainly because I’ve been getting used to classes and traveling a bit. This week has been really busy because my RSM (Research Methods) class started and it absorbs a lot of my free time. It’s like being back at UT, since my schedule is comparable.

So, it’s been a little longer than a week since I first arrived in Manchester. Since my arrival, I’ve noticed a few differences, and I decided to make a list of some big and small things that are different.

Well I have finally settled into the dorm and purchased most of the items I will need for the rest of the semester.
I have slowly but surely learned my way to navigate the city both on foot and on the bus (I need a little more work on the bus, I have gotten lost a few times).

Clint Epperson, senior in Mechanical Engineering, spent the summer of 2009 in Italy. He was studying Art History and Intercultural Communication at Lorenco de Medici University in Florence.
Student Reports: Bailey Primm, London, 2009
Bailey Primm, freshman in Material Science and Engineering, will study this summer in London. During seven weeks in the School of International Education of Students (IES) she will study London Theater and Shakespeare.

Lauren Johnson, senior in Chemical Engineering, spent spring semester of 2009 in Finland. She was studying Chemical Engineering at Abo Akademi in the city of Turku.
Chancellor’s Outreach Award Reception
On April 23, 2009 a reception was held for the 19 nominees for the Chancellor’s Outstanding Outreach Award. The Tickle College of Engineering was proud to have 5 nominees who were honored for their outstanding work in extending their classroom and research efforts into the community.
Tickle College of Engineering Honors Howard Chambers at Awards Dinner
The University of Tennessee Tickle College of Engineering held its Faculty and Staff Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Knoxville Convention Center. The event included a reception, dinner and awards program.
Student Reports: Sarah Keedy, Chile, 2008
Sarah Keedy, a senior in Mechanical Engineering, spent the spring semester of 2008 in Chile. At the Pontifica Universidad Catholica in Valparaiso, she took classes to learn Spanish and Chilean culture. For her, it was a unique experience.
