Tickle Engineering Building) is directed by Mingzhou Jin, the John D. Tickle Professor at the Tickle College of Engineering. The LTS lab applies operations research, simulation, traffic modeling, statistical analysis, cost\/benefit analysis, and other engineering techniques to address issues in logistics, transportation, advanced manufacturing, and supply chain. Jin, the director of the lab, has done about sixty projects in those areas with the total funding for more than $9 million. The sponsors include NSF, America Makes, USDOT, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, Argonne National Lab, CNS\/Y-12, NASA, three state DOTs, American Trucking Associations, Material Handling Industry, several University Transportation Centers, and various companies, such as FedEx, Nissan, Tennessee Valley Authority, and Lockheed Martin. Jin was the president of the Logistics and Supply Chain division of the Institute for Industrial and Systems Engineers and the president of the Engineering Economy division. He is serving in the editorial boards of the \u00a0journals of <em>The Engineering Economists<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>the International Journal of Production Economics<\/em>, is the executive editor of the<em>\u00a0Journal of Cleaner Production<\/em>, and serves as the Editor-in-Chief for<em>\u00a0Cleaner and Circular Bioeconomy.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>News<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Jin leads a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.utk.edu\/2023\/02\/24\/ut-to-lead-10m-university-transportation-center\/\">$10M multi-institutional University Transportation Center aimed at improving the mobility of people and goods across the country<\/a>. On February 21, 2023, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced funding of $2 million a year for five years for<a href=\"http:\/\/fersc.utk.edu\/\">\u00a0the Center for Freight Transportation
