We offer a 5-year BS\/MS program for students seeking a fast-track approach to achieve their academic and professional goals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/ise\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/08\/ISE-5-YEAR-BSMS-ADMISSION-FORM-2023.doc\">Apply today by filling out the admission form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"orange-mark\">Program Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The 5-Year BS\/MS program with a major in industrial engineering is for qualified students to take up to nine hours of approved graduate courses for their senior undergraduate courses that will count toward both their bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees at UT. This program is designed for students seeking an accelerated degree program that offers a number of benefits, including a shortened academic track so you can get a jumpstart on your career in industrial engineering.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"orange-mark\">Curriculum<\/h2>\n<p>Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.utk.edu\/preview_program.php?catoid=51&amp;poid=31583#ie_five-year\">course catalog<\/a> for more information on the 5-year BS\/MS IE degree.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"orange-mark\">Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Students who wish to participate in the five-year BS\/MS program must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.4.<\/li>\n<li>Admission must be approved by the department, the college, and the Graduate School.<\/li>\n<li>Admission must be obtained before taking a graduate course that is to be used to satisfy the requirements only for the master\u2019s degree. These courses must be identified in advance, with the proposed master\u2019s adviser or the department\u2019s Graduate Program Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Any course taken for graduate credit prior to satisfying all requirements for the bachelor\u2019s degree in industrial engineering must be approved by the department head or designee and the Graduate School.<\/li>\n<li>Courses required for the BS degree are not eligible for MS credit. However, elective courses are eligible for MS credit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A student will not be eligible for a graduate assistantship until the student is enrolled as a graduate-level student in the Graduate School, has satisfied all of the requirements for the bachelor\u2019s degree, or the student is in the final semester of the bachelor\u2019s degree and has completed all undergraduate industrial engineering coursework.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interested in taking a more rigorous approach to your future in industrial and systems engineering?
