“Nuclear Pirates” Win Halloween Spirit Challenge

Faculty and staff from the Department of Nuclear Engineering won the inaugural Tickle College of Engineering Halloween Spirit Challenge on October 31, 2013. This “Battle on the Bridge” challenge took place between NE and the occupants of the new John D. Tickle Building: the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The nuclear team arrived as “nuclear pirates” attempting to “take over” the walkway bridge to the Tickle building. They were successful and were crowned the winners by a team of TCE staff judges, who presented them with an immediately coveted Halloween trophy.

CEE’s costume theme featured characters from the animated film “Despicable Me.” ISE went with a department-specific theme: “Industrial and Systems Engineering taming the evil forces that affect process efficiency.”

Nuclear engineering faculty and staff thanked their able competitors and plan on defending their title in 2014.
