Dongarra Talks Supercomputing with Wired

Jack Dongarra, Distinguished Professor of electrical engineering and computer science spoke with the magazine Wired about a new “arms race” in computing. As China and the United States battle for processing power superiority, the United States owns the top spot in computing at the moment.

Dongarra, the compiler of the list of the world’s 500 fastest computers list, is in a unique position to talk about the large growth of Chinese supercomputers and Summit, the new supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Labs that claims the top spot for fastest computer in the world.
