{"id":450,"date":"2021-05-12T13:58:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/bme\/?p=450"},"modified":"2025-07-28T17:03:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T21:03:25","slug":"eureca-symposium-showcases-research-recognizes-mabe-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tickle.utk.edu\/bme\/news\/eureca-symposium-showcases-research-recognizes-mabe-students\/","title":{"rendered":"EUR\u0113CA Symposium Showcases Research, Recognizes MABE Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three MABE students were recognized for their research at this year\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eureca.utk.edu\/\">Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement (EUR\u0113CA)<\/a>&nbsp;symposium held April 19-23. The annual event showcases research and creative activities across all disciplines by currently enrolled undergraduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kassidy Boone, Jenny Patel, and Naydia Peoples (CBE) received an award of merit for research for their project entitled, \u201cStructural and Rheological Analysis of Hydrogel for Local Pediatric Brain Tumor Drug Delivery.\u201d They were mentored by MABE Assistant Professor Elizabeth Barker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tyler Morris received the third place for research award for his project entitled, \u201cDevelopment and Optimization of a Digital Hearing Aid to Increase Music Perception.\u201d He was mentored by MABE Associate Professor Jeff Reinbolt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MABE Assistant Professor Brett Compton mentored a group of MSE students who received an award of merit for research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">See a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eureca.utk.edu\/eureca-2021-award-winners\/\">full list<\/a>&nbsp;of EUR\u0113CA winners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three MABE students earned top honors at UT\u2019s EUR\u0113CA symposium for innovative research in drug delivery and hearing aid technology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[25],"locations":[],"class_list":["post-450","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-eureca"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.6 -
