Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gene Patrick S. Rible is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Engineering, Tickle College of Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is an electrical, robotics, and aerospace engineer and educator who teaches engineering the way it is practiced: hands-on, tool-in-hand, and grounded in real systems.

Rible’s research spans robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, control theory, advanced and additive manufacturing, and fluid dynamics. He has published extensively as a first author, including a front-cover article in Langmuir and featured articles in Physics of Fluids, holds patents in robotics and appliance technology, and has led and mentored more than 100 undergraduate, graduate, and high-school researchers to conferences, publications, and awards.

Before joining the faculty, DRible taught programmable logic controllers, data acquisition and control, electronics, and dynamics as adjunct faculty at Pellissippi State Community College, and led a robotics and AI laboratory at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is the founder and co-owner of Titan Forgeworks, an advanced-manufacturing company that produces industrial-grade materials such as carbon fiber and rubber for custom and obsolete parts. Rible is a licensed Electronics Engineer and Electronics Technician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
