Icove<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alignwide has-medium-font-size\" style=\"margin-top:0\"><em><em>Professor of Practice<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-reverse alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading orange-mark\">Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An internationally recognized forensic fire engineering expert with over 45 years of experience, he is the co-author of <em>Kirk\u2019s Fire Investigation,<\/em> <em>Forensic Fire Scene Reconstruction<\/em>, and <em>Combating Arson-for-Profit<\/em>, the leading textbooks and expert treatises in the field of fire investigation. He holds 23 U.S. Patents in forensic and related engineering areas. He has testified as an expert witness in criminal and civil trials, including three times before U.S. Congressional committees representing the FBI in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat violent crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is also an active Adjunct Faculty member teaching fire protection engineering courses at the University of Maryland and the University of New Haven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
