As a multidisciplinary area of study, the reliability and maintainability engineering (RME) program focuses on designing systems that function consistently without failure and are easy to repair and restore after failure. The program \u202ffocuses on the use of management systems, analysis techniques and advanced condition-based and preventive technologies to identify, manage and eliminate failures leading to losses in system function. UT offers several RME degree programs for students to choose from.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The applied engineering program incorporates a minor in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering directly into the curriculum. Fifteen hours of program course credits focus on RME and as a result, students who complete the program will also earn a minor in RME.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After obtaining their bachelor\u2019s in applied engineering, students may decide to continue their education with a master\u2019s in reliability and maintainability engineering. This program is offered through an interdepartmental design, with thesis and project options available. With engineering concentrations in aerospace, chemical, computer, electrical, industrial, materials, mechanical, and nuclear, the RME program offers a multidisciplinary path for professional engineers to advance their careers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
